Gun Bolt triumphs at Eagle Farm
May 09, 2019
Handy galloper, Gun Bolt returned to the winner's stall last week after scoring an authoritative victory in the Class 3 Handicap at Eagle Farm.
Stepping out to the 2225m for the first time, the plan was to settle back and let him relax, allowing him every chance to run out the trip. He travelled beautifully under champion jockey, Blake Shinn and looked to have them covered as he approached the 600m mark. As the pressure went on, he slid up around the field and looked to relish the big Eagle Farm track as he pulled away from the field to score by three and a half lengths.
It was win number four for the son of Bullet Train and it took his earnings past $70,000. A $22,500 purchase at the Magic Millions yearling sale, the gelding is raced by the Grand Syndicates team and plenty of his loyal owners were trackside to celebrate the win.
