Winning Accord wins first up

Jul 08, 2017

Winning Accord returned to the winner's stall last week with a strong first up win in the Class 3 Handicap over 1200m, on his home track.

Jumping from barrier two, the four year old flew out of the gates but was allowed to settle just off the leading pair by apprentice, Jag Guthmann - Chester.  As the leaders came back to him he hit the front at the top of the straight and fought on strongly to hold out the fast finishing runner up, Distroyia.

The win was a welcome reward for owner Dudley Kelso and his wife Beverly, who have been very patient with the son of Authorized, as he has had to overcome a few setbacks.  Winning Accord has always shown good ability and trainer Bruce Hill will now look to step him up over further.
