Win number five for Kalandula

May 15, 2015

Talented mare Kalandula returned to the winner's stall on Saturday after a solid victory in the Class 6 Plate over 1400m on her home track.

The four year old jumped away well from barrier five and was allowed to settle just off the speed by apprentice Bridget Grylls.  Grylls bought her to the outside in the straight and she proved too good for the rest of the field, pulling away to score by a length over Speedy Sam with stable mate Talon Lady running home strongly into third place.

Having her seventeenth race start, the Commands mare has now recorded five wins and five placings and collected over $80,000 for her connections.  Trainer Bruce Hill will continue to let her go through her grades when he runs her again at the Gold Coast next weekend.
