Miss Husson goes the distance
Dec 23, 2013
With luck finally on her side and a determined ride by jockey Jim Byrne, Miss Husson was able to record her first Saturday metropolitan race, taking out the Andrew Bensley No. 1 in News QTIS three year old Handicap at Doomben on Saturday.
Stepping up to 2020m for the first time, Miss Husson settled back off a solid tempo and travelled comfortably throughout the run. Approaching the turn Byrne commenced to make his move and the runs came. Miss Husson stormed through between horses to score by a nose, holding off runner up Amexed and the well supported, Our Zidane.
It was win number 3 for the Husson filly and with the QTIS bonus it took her prize money tally to $83,950.
Trainer Bruce Hill was fairly confident the three year old would run the distance and will now wait and see how she pulls up over the coming days before making any plans for her.
