Elmantosh proves too good

Nov 04, 2013

Consistent galloper Elmantosh showed he may be a bit above average on Saturday with an easy win in the Mount Alvernia College Class 6 Handicap over 1600m at Eagle Farm.

Given a nice, patient ride by Ric McMahon the four year old settled last in the field of eight.  He was still last on the turn but McMahon never panicked and waited until he straightened to pull him to the outside and make his run.  He sprinted quickly and cruised past them to score by a length and a half over runner up Danyme.

The win was Elmantosh’s fifth from only twelve starts and he has now collected over $100,000 in his short career.
