Casarati breaks through

Nov 02, 2013

Speedy colt Casarati broke his maiden status on Thursday with a dominant win in the Jim Beam QTIS three year old Handicap over 1100m at Ipswich.

Jumping form barrier seven, the son of Red Dazzler found the lead easily but was taken on for most of the event by the long shot Al Almighty.   Casarati proved much too strong in the straight and despite carrying the top weight of 59kg’s he pulled away to score by just over two lengths.

It was Casarati’s first start this preparation and the Hill team were confident of a forward showing after he had trialled extremely well leading into the race.

A $17,000 purchase by Bruce Hill at last year’s Magic Millions QTIS sale, Casarati has now collected over $24,000 in prize money from just seven starts.
