Harrison steers Miss Husson to victory
Oct 18, 2013
Talented filly Miss Husson was back to her best yesterday with a dominant win in the Gold Coast Truck and Bus Centre Class 1 Handicap on her home track.
Given a perfect ride by Tegan Harrison, the Husson filly settled back in the field off a hot pace. She was still second last on turning and rather than hook to the outside Harrison elected to take the shortest way home and it paid off. Miss Husson surged to the lead and pulled away to score by just under two lengths from the Kelly Schweida trained L'Entrecote.
Trainer Bruce Hill was thrilled with the win. He had elected to run the three year old in a QTIS race over 1300m against her own age group at Ipswich but after the race was abandoned due to a low number of acceptors Hill decided to go with plan B and go for the Class 1 over 1200m.
It was only the fifth start for Miss Husson who has now won two races and collected over $24,000 for connections.
