Lochtorio breaks through

May 08, 2013

Promising stayer Lochtorio broke through for his maiden win at the Sunshine Coast last Friday by taking out the Yalumba Wines Maiden Plate over 1400m.

After having no luck at his two previous starts the three year old was never in doubt this time thanks to a perfect ride by apprentice Tegan Harrison.

Lochtorio jumped away well and settled midfield before Harrison pulled him into clear running rounding the turn, he hit the lead at the 200m mark and pulled away to score by just under two lengths.

Trainer Bruce Hill was pleased with the performance and believes the Oratorio gelding will keep improving as he steps up over more ground.
