Leapfrog retires

Aug 21, 2012

Bruce Hill Racing would like to announce the retirement of one of our favourite racehorses, Leapfrog.

At seven years of age Leapfrog has been a part of the Hill stable for over five years and during that time he has recorded seven wins and eleven placings, earning over $300,000 in prize money.

He was stakes placed on three occasions, finishing a close second behind classy filly Chakvetadze in the Group 3 Gold Coast Guineas and then second behind Court in the Group 3 BTC Classic in 2009. In 2010 he finished runner up behind Poor Judge in the Listed Bribie Handicap in 2010.

Despite never winning a major race Bruce Hill is immensely proud of what the Hurricane Sky gelding has achieved, “ He has done such a great job, he has carried injuries most of his life but he has always tried and has always been competitive” he stated.

With Leapfrog leaving the stable the team are hopeful that his half sisters can fill the void, three year old My Shabella by Haradasun, is currently in work and possesses many of his qualities and his unnamed two year old half sister by Hussonet is starting to make her presence felt.
