Warlady scores run away win

Jun 12, 2012

Three year old filly Warlady recorded her first win on Saturday, taking out the Qld Industrial Electrics Maiden Plate over 1800m at the Gold Coast.

Ridden by Kiwi apprentice Ryan Hurdle, the daughter of O'Reilly raced outside the leader before making her move at he 600m mark where she pulled away from the rest of the field to score by 6 lengths from runner up Newstar with third place getter Red Majesty a further 6 1/2 lengths away.

Trainer Bruce Hill was pleased with the win and is happy to just go through the grades with her.  He will look to a class 1 event over a similar distance for the filly in the coming weeks.
