Another double for the Hill stable

Mar 06, 2012

The Hill stable enjoyed a good day out at the Gold Coast on Saturday with Concrete Lady and One To Go providing them with a double.

First starter Concrete Lady made an impressive debut by taking out the Racing Retro Fillies and Mares Handicap by 4 lengths.

Ridden by Kanichiro Fuji, the three year old travelled comfortably outside the leaders before kicking away in the straight, revelling in the heavy 10 conditions.

Trainer Bruce Hill was unsure whether the Snippetson filly would handle the wet surface and was thrilled with the result.  "I didn't know how she'd go in the ground but decided to give her a try and it paid off." he stated.

Two races later consistant galloper One To Go returned to the winners stall for the second time in his career when he scored in the Sky Racing Media Centre Class 1 Handicap.

The All Bar One gelding lead from start to finish in the 1200m event, holding off race favourite Cavalryman by 2 1/2 lengths.

A similar type race is on the agenda for him next start as Hill plans to keep stepping him up through the grades.
