Winwin - a perfect situation

Jan 13, 2010

Winwin Situation has been just that for Bruce Hill.

A few months back the mare was given to Bruce by race-a-horse.com knowing it had a good share of ability.

Head of the online syndication company Kevin Robinson explained the history of the filly after she easily won her maiden.

"I bought her at the Inglis yearling sale in 2008 and she had always shown ability," Robinson said.

"I had a BBQ at my property "Ferny Glen" (on the Gold Coast) and we sold her off to seven people.

"We had her ready to race with Helen Page who was convinced she would win first up as a two-year-old but knee chips stopped her progress.

"She had an operation and was given her full time recover.

"Before the problems we thought she had the makings of a top horse and judging on the win, we still do."

Winwin Situation certainly gave the impression of heights when easily winning the 3YO fillies maiden at Doomben (1200m).

Perfectly ridden by Luke Rolls, the Danewin-Rickwin filly (hence the clever name), settled sixth on the outside after initially showing pace in an early speed battle.

Rolls made a move before the home turn and took opponents while still under a hold.

At the 200m, hot favourite Love A Sequalo found a kick.

But once Rolls let Winwin Situation go, she swept passed the favourite and started going away on the line.

"I will give her another easier type of race at her next start before stepping her up to something better," Bruce said.

"She is a big filly and bred to get over a lot more ground."

Bruce Hill fans were rewarded with tote dividends of around $13 on the three totes in Australia.

Race-a-horse.com now have had two horses to race in 2010 for two winners, the other Star Stepper.

It has brought about 100 people into ownership in seven horses.

Robinson said he also has high expectations for Racing Pegasus who ready to return to the track shortly.

Meanwhile, Bruce will train a Falvelon-Our Majestic Blue two-year-old filly, he picked out of the paddock.

The fillly still has two $5000 shares available and can be viewed on race-a-horse.com.
